The idea that brought me here today and sharing what I know with you, started with me being shamed by the health and fitness know-it-alls.

My name is John Volk. I am an everyday person who, like many, was overweight and getting nowhere following the endless diet and exercise advice of the experts.

Get going on some plan or program for a few weeks (I was honestly lucky to make it that long in most cases), get sick of all the hard work and effort and the way I no longer ate what I wanted, and quit. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

I think the thing that stunk worst of all was the feeling of being deprived because I was worried CONSTANTLY about eating too much or eating the wrong thing.

There were two dominant cruddy feelings every time I took on a new fitness plan: I was hungry all the time or worried/tense all the time, or a wicked combination of both.
